PDF Tool
PDF to Excel (XLSX/CSV)

Pull tables out of invoices, reports, bank statements, and price lists into a real spreadsheet. This beta tool reads the PDF's text layer, clusters it into rows and columns, and writes an Excel workbook (one worksheet per page) or a CSV file. It works on text-based PDFs with selectable text. Scanned pages have no text layer and won't convert; run OCR first. Clean, well-aligned tables convert best.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work on scanned PDFs?

No. This tool reads the PDF's text layer, and scanned pages are just images with no selectable text. Run OCR first (try our Searchable PDF tool), then convert the OCR'd file.

How accurate is the table extraction?

This is a beta feature. Columns are inferred from where text sits on the page, so clean, well-aligned tables convert very reliably. Merged cells, multi-line cells, and dense layouts may land in the wrong column and need a quick cleanup in Excel.

Should I pick XLSX or CSV?

XLSX gives you a real Excel workbook. One worksheet per PDF page and numeric cells you can sum immediately (comma decimals are normalized). CSV is a plain universal text file that opens anywhere, with pages separated by a blank line.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. PDF to Excel runs entirely in your browser. The file is parsed and the spreadsheet is built on your device. Supported file contents are not uploaded for processing.
