Does it keep the bookmarks my PDF already has?
Yes. The existing outline is imported when the file loads, so you edit what is already there instead of starting over. Bookmarks nested deeper than three levels are kept but raised to the third level, and entries whose destination cannot be resolved default to page 1.
How deep can I nest bookmarks?
Up to three levels: top-level entries, children, and grandchildren. That covers part, chapter, and section structure while staying manageable in most PDF readers.
Will the bookmarks panel open automatically for readers?
Yes. The saved PDF sets the page mode so viewers that honor it show the bookmarks panel on open. Each bookmark jumps to the top of its target page; it cannot point at a specific paragraph or zoom level.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
