What is chromatic aberration?

Chromatic aberration is a lens artifact where different wavelengths of light focus at slightly different points, producing red/blue color fringes around high-contrast edges. Modern photo editing also uses it deliberately for stylistic effect.

Which mode should I pick?

Radial is the most realistic lens look. Fringes appear only near corners. Linear is the classic VHS / glitch RGB-split. Zoom produces a bold cinematic look where the red layer is enlarged and the blue compressed.

How much shift is realistic?

For subtle realism use 1–5 px shift. For deliberate aesthetic / glitch effect use 10–20 px. Above that the image becomes deliberately distorted for design or motion-graphic use.

Does it reuse cached assets on repeat visits?

Browser caching can speed repeat visits; uncached site assets can still require an internet connection.

Can I undo chromatic aberration on a real photo?

Pixlane's tool adds aberration. To remove it, use a dedicated lens-correction tool with profile data. Algorithmically removing real CA requires the lens model. Our tool is for adding the effect, not removing it.
